I am a lifelong, self taught artist who has always wanted to spend as much time as I possibly could, with a paintbrush in my hand. I have always been inspired by Nature and all its beauty and that has been my main focus when I started painting again after many years of raising a family and working full time. Watercolours has been my favourite choice of medium and painting florals has always put me in a happy place and I will continue to paint them as often as I can.
During the past 2 years I have been taking acrylic painting classes and I find I am enjoying this medium equally as well.
This past year I have been following a new direction in which I have been focusing on painting in watercolours, some of Alberta’s majestic mountain scenes. Having lived in Alberta during my younger years, I have never lost the love for the mountains and all their beauty.
I am currently an active member of the Wellington Artists’ Gallery in Fergus as well as the Guelph Creative Arts Association in Guelph. Over the past few years I have been one of the Feature Artists during the Guelph Horticultural Garden Tour, participated in Painting on the Green, exhibited at the Barber Gallery for the “Expressions” exhibit, have been part of several shows at the Café Creperie in Elora and have had my work accepted into the 3Juried Exhibitions at the Wellington Artists’ Gallery.
In addition to my paintings, I also create hand crafted tile coasters and cotton canvas bags with images of my original watercolour & acrylic paintings. Both Robinson Flowers in Guelph also sell my hand made note cards.
